DIY or Call Us?

There’s a safe middle ground here. An owner can verify the model stamp, measure post spacing (standard Blanco sections are 96 inches on center), and check whether the lean is in the post or the footing by rocking the post base by hand. If it moves in the concrete, the bracket’s failed; if the concrete moves with it, the footing has sheared.

Where DIY goes wrong is the post extraction. Blanco posts are set 30 inches deep in concrete that weighs 80-plus pounds per footing. In Escondido’s clay, the concrete bonds to the soil and removing it without disturbing the adjacent panels takes a come-along, a post-puller, and usually two people.
